Kill Creek by Scott Thomas

An internet promoter of the thriller genre gets four popular writers together at an old abandoned house (said to be haunted) for an interview to boost ratings. Their lives are not the same after the visit to the house. The only way for the authors to remain sane appears to return to the house and find out why a third floor bedroom had been bricked off all those years.
A creepy haunted house story that would be great to read on Halloween.

A quick couple of translated works

These two short translated novels from Spanish might be "something completely different" you might like to read this summer.

Signs Preceding the End of the World by Yuri Herrera is a story about a teenage girl making the dangerous crossing to the U.S. to find her brother who made the journey years before.
Timely, considering the Mexican border problems we are seeing in the news today

The Story of My Teeth by Valeria Luiselli is a novel like nothing you have ever read before. It begins with the birth of Gustavo who was born with 4 premature teeth.
As you can guess, teeth are central to the story that is filled with allegories. Be sure to read the afterward -- it explains a lot.
